Gumball #10 The Bridge of Setu
It is ok to get out of your comfort zone & share your story. You never know who it will help
Thank you Dr. Sunil Sharma for inviting me to submit and our conversation about the cosmos, grief, and connections.
Sangeeta Sharma has this beautiful incredible way to help you tell your story. This was not the easiest thing for me to do. Their encouragement made all the difference in the world to me.
About today - I was interviewed for www.SetuMag.com, there were so many things to share. Now I know how people who win an Oscar feel when they forget to thank everyone they intended too. I am greatly honored to say the very least. Sharing the backstory of my daughter crossing over and how the creative process continues to help me to this very day is why today could happen.
Alyssa connects me to the Universe, for 10 years she has been out riding comets. She is my StarChild, we have shared many adventures out in the cosmos and beyond. The makings for a graphic novel, so stay tuned.
“Cosmic Eye” silk painting detail
Sangeeta said it best -
Well, this time Setu hosted an eminent American artist, Marjorie Pezzoli, as a part of the ongoing video--series of Literary and Critical Conversations.
Marjorie is primarily a silk painter, besides being a poet, a short story writer and a riveting storyteller.
She says," You never know when something so seemingly small can be so huge, from hugs to ladybugs. Find sparks of joy on even your darkest days.
My father taught me this expression he learned in Peru that has helped me to keep perspective in the worst of times:
Spanish - “Nada bueno ni malo dura más de cien años” - so much more elegant than the English version -
“Nothing good nor bad lasts more than 100 years.”
Kudos to her!

Directly from the Setu About page - It's my pleasure to present debut issue of Setu Bilingual. A Sanskrit word, Setu means a bridge, and that is exactly what we intend to do here at world headquarters of Setu in Pittsburgh. Setu, as the name indicates, is here to connect the extreme ends of the words, written and spoken across the globe. No doubt, this is a humble beginning, we have big dreams. There is a lot to do. And with your cooperation, we are going to make it big.
Setu is not 'just another' English journal from India, nor another Hindi journal from USA. Instead, Setu is the bridge that connects the world, one word at a time, through its monthly editions in Hindi and English.

This is a close up of the stunning glass pendant created by my BFF Debbie Solan.
It is layered dichroic fused glass, one of my treasured pieces made by her. Seriously, this picture does not do it justice, the color flashes change with different lighting angles.
We have had countless adventures, helped to hang her jellyfish, hike in the redwoods wearing faerie dresses, these are a few of the things I mentioned in today’s interview.

If it wasn’t for the love and support of my husband and family I never would have made it through these last 10 years. This is Alyssa’s self portrait, through the magic of photoshop it includes her brother. It is grand to have so many creative people that are part of my story.
I thank you all!
Til next week, this is one of my longer “Gumballs”, so much to share!
Marjorie :-)
