make war they call 
the homeless lazy

asphalt cracks
paper bag wine
veterans forgotten 

pick a victim
the media feed fear
fan it with more lies 

plain clothes 
bullies emboldened 
car windows shatter

stop believing 
in the blame game
let nations see the truth

compassion needed
a simple casket 

when politicians

Targeted political violence - Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark shot dead. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were wounded by bullets. My heart aches for their families and friends, along with the people of their state.
