We are working on a graphic novel to share my continued adventures in the stars with Alyssa. A longer project than planned. I enjoy writing haiku because they are short, sweet, and to the point like my girl.

In many parts of the country it is rare to see a rainbow in winter. In Southern California we are coming into rainbow season due to our rainy time that arrives in late Fall.
Mark is the lead content curator for Naturalist Weekly.com. He shows examples of classic haiku from the Masters: Basho, Buson, and Issa to name a few. I recommend joining his email list. Wonderful content.

This is the time of year when the sun hits our outside glass table just right to create a light show on our living room wall. I find them delightful.
Ten years ago a huge low rainbow formed when the lifeguards brought my daughter, Alyssa, up to the beach. Our friends were out surfing and witnessed this event. They shared this information with us after we told them she didn’t survive her ocean swim.
🌈 This sign made the unbearable - bearable. Now you know why they are so important to me.
