Thank you to Alex, editor of miniMAG for including our split sequences for Issue 86. It is always a blast to work with Jerome Berglund.
This is not a traditional way to create this type of poem. Below is the full version, it was not my intention to leave off the last stanza. Ok, I was actually mortified about my faux pas, Jerome puts much thought into his writings. I appreciate all that he has taught me.
Creating late night graphics on my phone is how this came to be.
Sometimes mistakes lead to new discoveries. I am calling this form a miniSplit due to where it was 1st published. This did lead to interesting discussions for sure, thankfully good and encouraging.

This piece started with a “seed haiku”, it is fun to see what the contributing poet responds with. The title comes after the split sequence is finished.

I left out my last verse because I was focused on the overall look 🙄🙃🙂 to match the 1st one. Total brain fart on my part.
Word play is fun “Dear” instead of deer ( deer in the headlights) - morals replaced morels. My mushroom pic what go me going on this one.
I snap many pics while taking Beau on walks. Inspiration is everywhere.
So now you know the rest of the story…
