“In Between the Blue & the Green”
we spin together
on this blue-green dot
the Earth
we call home breathes life into us
oceans meet
mountains rise
moss touches the sky
leaves dance in the breeze
mushrooms converse with trees
jellyfish float with whales
light fades into darkness
Grandmother moon whispers to waves
her messages
tucked into sea shells
beachcombers
hear turtles cries
pelicans fly overhead
hope we take heed
in between the blue & the green
sky kisses land
clouds hold rainbows and possibilities
as long as they appear
we shall keep spinning on this blue-green dot
catch waves, try to hold moonbeams in jars

Looking forward to attending this fundraiser for Friends of the Library on August 6th. My silk scarf will be one of the prizes for the opportunity drawings. Some lucky person will win the custom “Poetry in Ocean” surfboard by internationally acclaimed shaper Hank Warner.
An open mic will follow the authors panel, I am trying to decide which ocean theme poem to share. Our words make a difference.
bodysurf with pelicans // deep souls guard each other // spiritual ocean friends
Inspired by the Lifeguard box which feels like found poetry to me
till next week - Marjorie
I am getting back into painting silk scarves, might offer them here to help fund my writing projects. The way color flows across this beautiful fabric keeps me drawn to this art form.
My silks have been in various boutiques and museum shops over the years.
A stupendously visceral post! Thoroughly enjoyed this poem 🌸
Oh, I love this! Beautiful imagery! It took me to the water and swimming with dolphins! Though I have only touched the ocean a few times in my life, I have a connection to it in my heart bond with dolphins, such precious beings. WE so need to care for this spinning orb! The future feet that walk upon it should be as fortune as we to know its wonder and beauty! My heart skipped a beat when you mentioned offering your scarves here!! Whether you do that in this space or not, I hope to be able to purchase one! I did go to your other site! You do beautiful work! How can someone place an order? Many blessings ~Wendy
