Catching the Wind
unexpectedly
she caught the wind
it swirled between her fingertips
deposited a dragonfly
at the base of her palm
it danced across her lifeline
then waltzed into her thoughts
… it’s ok to be blue - not know what to do
feel the breeze shimmer
remember to breathe
… please know you can fly without wings

I was looking through some of my older poems deciding what to share. This one starts with the first two original lines and the idea of being able to fly without wings. Then the in-between words flowed.
Dragonflies are so magical, their movements and wings are mesmerizing- why I included this insect in my poem.
Painting on silk is like painting on air, why I chose this image of two of my scarves for this offering. It is fun to imagine the texture and color of the wind.
Soon I will get back into my studio to explore other color palettes that capture the breeze at different moments.

I needed to feel wonderment today, the creative process continues to heal me.
till next week- Marjorie
Beautiful words and your silk is a perfect match
When two things, sadness and peace, come together....a beautiful poem is written. SO moved! Your hand painted silk added to the breezy float this poem took me on. Marjorie.....So perfect is the dragonfly, a precious visit! 🥰💙✨🤗 Blessings ~Wendy
